Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
